If this is Netware 3.x you may find that IDE.DSK will not work in
particular machines with IDE drives larger than 1GB. This is
particularly true of IBM PC Servers (the earlier models) and some
models of Wyse Decision. To get around this problem use the ISADISK.DSK
driver that ships with Netware and use the /i /b switches. You MUST use
a lower case "i" and "b" and they must come with the /i first. The
after market IDE.DSK driver supplied by Novell still experiences some of
these same problems.
Typical problems with IDE.DSK and Netware 3.x are not being able to see
the drive free space when attempting to create a Netware partition,
extremely long creation periods when actually creating a Netware
partition, not being able to create a Netware partition even though free
space can be seen, not being able to create a volume after the partition
has been created and not being able to use a volume after creation
(inability to mount volume, inability to copy data to volume, data
corruption and frequent server abends).
