RR>The same 43% who put Clinton in before will vote for him again.
DA> I don't believe that. I know plenty of democrats and

DA> IN MY OPINION, Clinton doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hades

DA> used as an excuse for postponing or suspending the elections.
I wish that was true but I run into scads of people all the time who yammer
about how evil Dole/Gingrich/Religious Right/Republicans/NRA/etc. are out to
"get" everybody and how they're getting behind Clinton because he "knows what
it's like" for the little people. (Sure, he got a briefing on it.)
Add to that hysteria the barrage of ads the AFL/CIO have been running all
year slamming the republicans and praising Clinton, the constant
one-sidedness of the media, people who always vote on party/union/freebie
lines and even Dole/Kemp, with party backing and money, are at a severe
disadvantage. The Dems have been playing the "big lie" card very
uccessfully.
We've got a Slick-50 administration here. It's the crookedest, most
untrustworthy one ever, but the great majority doesn't care and will argue
with you when you point it out. Even if you argue them into admitting it
they'll just say the other side is worse.
We're the other side. Evil, gun-loving, terrorists, marching to the beat of
the NRA/militia paranoids/talk radio.
We're the new boogie man of the 90's. The major media will dog-pile anyone
who aligns with us. And we're arguing here about how many ways we can split
what little power we might have had.
As for sending "a message", the only message that means anything in this
situation is to make anyone who infringes our rights a one-termer. That will
say far more than voting for someone who has no real chance of winning and
thus allowing the infringer to toast his success.
