Irvine takes over

(8-Oct-98) - Eddie Irvine took over from Luca Badoer in the cockpit of the
Ferrari F300 at Fiorano yesterday.

The team's test driver had spent two days working on wet and dry tyres, new
components and set-up work at the Fiorano circuit.

The team's determination to leave no stone unturned in their effort to
improve performance was obvious. Badoer completed 69 laps on Monday and 105
laps on Tuesday.

Irvine continued testing duties yesterday. The Ulsterman worked on an
improved seating position with a modified seat and general testing
completing 53 laps with a best time of 1m 02.859s.

Irvine visited a clinic in Paris last week for attention to his back after
season-long problems. It is believed that an ill-fitting seat in his F300
may have caused or aggravated the problems.

Michael Schumacher takes over today.
