Yes the 60s were charged. No doubt about it. I was 11 years old when the flag was raised here. We went through "Freedom of Choice" and then desegregation without riots in my school. I do not know the history of the other states or exactly when some like Georgia made the battle flag a part of their state flag although I think they did along about this time period. I believe Mississippi did much sooner.
