GP> What's real is that Dole is anti-gun & if you vote for an
GP> anti-gunner, you are an anti-gunner, too.
Buzz. Wrong answer. Because I vote for a candidate
means neither that I believe in all he stands for nor
I'm what he is. Sometimes it means that I'm doing the
best I can to keep the other guy from getting elected,
e.g. Bush vs Clinton, or the guy stands where I do on
most issues (or the main ones), e.g. John Tanner (D) my
US Rep.
RW> in June of anyone one other then a democrat or
RW> republican winning the Presidential election this
GP> What does that have to do with who you want as president?
It has more to with who I DON'T want for President! If
the guy I want isn't going to win no matter what I do
then I vote for the one who has a chance who most
reflects my views. Why don't all the Buchanan and/or
Forbes and/or Gramm voters just write in their names
instead of voting for Dole? Could it be because they
realize that Dole might not be as good as their guy but
he's a he** of a lot better then Clinton?
RW> Even if every gun owner in the US voted for the same
RW> 3rd party candidate he wouldn't come close.
GP> You don't think 70 million votes would cut the muster?
Ok. If you could get all 70 million to vote for one
guy then it might work. BTW is the 65-70 million
number the number of individual gun owners or the
number of guns owned?
GP> That's no dumber than saying "I'm going to vote for an
GP> anti-gunner so I can keep my guns . . . . . "
Never heard anyone say that. Dole might not be really,
really pro gun but I would go as far as saying he's
anti gun. For one thing I have never seen or heard him
say that he thought the American people shouldn't have
access to firearms. As a matter of fact I have never
seen such a thing from any one in the republican party.
I have seen such things from democrats.
RW> way. Either you are voting to keep Clinton in office
RW> or you are voting to elect Dole.
GP> Not me, friend . . . . I'm pro-gun so I'm voting for a
GP> pro-gun president!
That only means that Clinton margin of winning will be
bigger. Then Sarah & Jim Brady will have more chances
to use the oval office to push for the COMPLETE banning
of handguns and everything else they want. If Clinton
wins and the next gun control law is signed by him I
don't want to hear you bit** because you help elect
him.
RW> true choices. If you vote for and support someone
RW> other then Dole and Clinton wins then you effectively
RW> voted FOR Clinton.
GP> If you vote for & support someone other than a pro-gunner,
GP> the you are ANTI-GUN.
That is an illogical statement. If I vote for and
support a democrat am I therefore a democrat? What am
I if I vote for and support members of both parties?
RW> Think about who is on Bill's side; the Brady's,
GP> The Bradys are Republicans, remember? Sarah will be voting
GP> for Dole . . . right along-side you . . . . . . . .
Yeah right. And she will work to make getting a CCW
easier and she'll be there when we push to have them
included in the full faith and credit clause in Article
IV Section 1 of the Constitution. I can just see her
in the booth pulling the lever for Bush in '92.
RW> I agree the choice is like being deciding if you want
RW> to be shot in the stomach or in the brain.
GP> You can decide not to get shot at all, & kick the ass of the
GP> person trying.
No, because there is no viable third option. That's
like saying that if you fall overboard in the middle of
the ocean you have three choices; sink, swim or fly.
