I would like to set up a fido BBS, and at the same time,
have the system support a website. Considering the number
of calls or hits I am likely to get, the computer load on
my end is pretty trivial.
Since I live in a remote rural area, I looked into a line
into Little Rock, where for 15$/mo they will let me log on
to what ever phone number I want, as long as I want.
But, it seems the usual setup is to have the line open for
BBS users to call *in*. Is the inet website setup with the
line off hook to the server 24 hours? Or could I have a
server call me? what happens is the call is outside the
local calling area?
