Hello all!
I've got someone with an older Novell network (ready to upgrade), who
(separately) has a registered domain name on the internet, through a local
ISP. They're wondering if it's possible for each machine on the local Novell
network to have its own email account (dave@x.com, ted@x.com, etc), which
would all be connected through the server and one modem, where the server (or
someone manually running a task) would call in to the ISP occasionally during
the day to check for mail. I poked a bit at Novell.com, but it didn't give me
a quick answer, even on what's available for messaging in a stock, standalone
netware system.
It seems (from the advertising) that there should be an easy integration
between IntraNetWare and the ISP's SMTP server, and that IntraNetWare should
be able to function as an intermediate SMTP server to email clients on each
workstation, so they think they're logging in to something to check email,
but actually getting it from their inbox on the local server. Wow, that was a
good ramble. |-} If any of this made any sense, and the point of my question
got through my words, and there *is* an answer, I'd appreciate it.
Tom
