GM was the same way.  I still don't feel as though I was in any danger.
Heck, during my teenage years I used to visit a friend who worked at a gas
station at night and would stand next to him while he was pumping gas with
a lit cigarette in his mouth.  Don't know if I'd do that today.

About that.  40 years ago the distance might have been greater.  I'd have
