subject: grunged message areas

Vern Faulkner grabbed aholt of the "grunged msg area" question, and said:

VF> packet writes a message to that area.
Hm, I do change msgs some. Second thoughts and all that. For all I know, so
do callers. With a mailer running and users calling in on two lines, this
situation could easily occur, and is indeed an "internode conflict" sort of
thing, which fits my current impression.
The $64 question is, when it happened to you, did it affect multiple areas?
Please confirm this. This is especially interesting as you're running OS/2
and I'm running DOS. If it did, you've probably identified the problem.
VF> That's the only time it ever happens, from what I can conclude.
If this is it, I should remove the "change a msg that's already saved" choice
from the menu. So should anyone else who's running multinode. Indeed, if
this is it, Scott should consider the problem in any future update, as (if
true) it involves a legal command that can cause distruction under the right
circumstances.

Dave
