OK, well I can't speak for open shows.. but I know that while there's no
rules on wearing gloves, all the participants are subject to trends. I do
wear gloves when riding English flatwork.. but never in Western.

No.. it doesn't. But even after the fact.. I feel it was the best way to go.
You've never seen a mare go into a frenzied spin in a stall that didn't stop
until she slammed into something.. like her head into the pipe or a feeder..
First time I saw this happen.. she stopped herself by hitting her head on the
feeder (moved out of the stall the next day) and knocked herself so hard she
went down on her knees.
