I mentioned this to you before but you *ran away*..

The State Of Massachussetts once had a law that empowered the States
Governor to appoint a interim replacement for any of its Federal
Legislators whom could no longer serve in office, until a special election
could be held.

In 2004 when Senator John Kerry secured the nomination for President, the
state legislature by a veto proof majority passed legislation that stripped
the Mass State Governor of this authority. The possibility existed that if
Kerry won the Presidency that naturally he would have to resign from the
Senate and then Republican Governor Mitt Romney would get to appoint a
interim replacement. So they made sure that never could become a
possibility.

Now that the Governor is a Democrat, with the passing of Kennedy, the
Democrats are rushing to institute the old law to allow the State Governor
to appoint an interim replacement.

Do you find this as odd behavior?
