-> A couple of reasons for that. One is the design of the tanks
-> themselfs, even more so 30 years ago. Not the safest thing in
-> an accident. The biggest concern, is if they are in an accident,
-> with a unlikely fire, the possiblity of a blevy.
-
It dosnt take much once a fire starts near a fuel line it can easly
spead to the tank and blow it up. As for propane, around here last year
during May or June we had a 1991 Mercuray Couger explode on the street,
what happend was the man has some oxyaccedline weilding tanks in his
trunk, one started leaking and on 91 Cougers the trunk lock is
electric, so when he hit the button inside his car to pop the trunk it
sparked and ignited the gas and blew up the car, the man lived though.
