In DOS' "EDIT.COM":

 Press  + C + P then 
 
The Win95 DOS,
 
 Press  + C. You are prompted to enter a keystroke (example )
 
I am mainly trying to get an ASCII #3 (a heart) to display. I am 
working on a door (in PowerBASIC) that the library uses "heart-codes" to 
display colors. When all else failed, I figured it was some sort of control 
code. The color codes are defined in the DOCs, but no mention of how to 
make the "heart".
