RH> I think that whats so distasteful is the fact that Windows is so buggy
RH> that Micro has put out, to my knowledge, 4 upgrades
RH> already and we uses have to pay for EVERY one of them.
We do? Last I noticed, patches are free to download off the net.
RH> We end up buying the same poor performing OS over and
RH> over. And Bill Gates gets richer and richer with the "More Bugs the
RH> Better" working wonders with his bank account...and we
RH> consumers are stupid enough to go along with it in
RH> order to play the games that the companies make
Compare your statement above with one further on...
RH> Exclusively for Win95. Those companies have tie-ins
RH> somewhere along the money line by way of buy-outs or
RH> generous "gifts" from Micro of their OS or such. All
RH> these companies that supply Win95 with their products,
The only companies that get "gifts" from MS are the ones that have
products published (Atomic, Digital Anvil, TRI, etc.) or directly owned by
Microsoft (Reality Labs, etc.).
RH> new computer systems etc., you can't tell me that they
RH> buy these full versions at a $200.00 or more pop each
RH> and just give them to the buying consumer...
Computer companies install Windows because it's the most widely used
and supported OS in the industry!
RH> Had OS2 Warp flooded the market using Gates tactics, we
RH> be seeing games made solely for OS2 Warp now. But they
No, we wouldn't. If you'd checked your performance figures, you'd
know that DOS games are slower under Warp than Win 95. Also, Warp has no
DirectX-like driver set to speak of.
RH> weren't as greedy. OS2 Warp3 has had to put out, last I
RH> found, 17 versions of fix discs (pack) for their
Hmm...17 fix discs. Microsoft has had to put out, what, two or three
Service Packs? And if you count the number of DirectX revisions, that still
only brings the number up to eight.
RH> operating system and as far as I know we have not had
RH> to pay for one of them! I got fixpack 17 off of the
 RH> internet FREE!!!
Like I said, you can get MS updates for free as well.
RH> I got the first version of Win95 and it runs like cramp
RH> so I deleted it instead of shelling out $100.00 or for
 RH> Versions B, C and D? each yet!!! Cripes, I'm almost
RH> half way to buying a new computer system instead of
RH> fattening Gates bank account. Plus all the money I did
RH> NOT spend on Win95 only games...
Get ready to have a total lack of new games. All of the major
holiday releases are Win 95 only.
