-> You could go over 400 MPH and still never get enough speed to equal
-> 100MPH straight on frontal crash into the sides of the tunnel. You
-> still would only sideswipe the tunnel walls and then your effective
-> speed would be measured from side to side not head-on.

THis orginially started as a comment about speeding done by the police,
I have since seen a officer come to a intersection turn on his lights
and speed through it, then cuting his lights off, well also moving at
45mhp through this intersection was a Pentran bus, i'm sorry, but a few
thousand pound Bus is the last thing i cut in front of just to have an
excuse to run a red light, The larger objects get, the harder it is to
stop them, the bus BARELY missed the patrol car. Now someone is going
to say 'well what if he was responding to a call' well what good would
the officer be if he was run over by a bus and someone would have to
resond to his call?

On one more note, last summer my friend and i were going to the beach
in his Camaro, we were in the HOV lane just after the tunnel and no one
was in the lane, we were holding a steady 115 (considering his car has
a top speed of around 170 to 180) and i looked over and told him i saw
a undercover cop, he said 'no its not' well about 30 secounds later the
officer turned on his little dash light and pulled around behind us, we
slowed down, and pulled over, we turned down the stereo as he
approached the car with a little smile he said we were going 80 in a 55
instead of 115 in a 55, we agreed, And he gave him a ticket, when he
went to trafic court the officer didnt show up, the 2nd time at court
the officer said he really couldnt remember what happened due to it
happened seveal months before and we got off free. That was probably
the best experance i've had with a cop, turned out all the other cars
on the road were doing 75-80 and he understood that we were teenages
and just got out of high school and it was the 1st days of summer but
he wanted ot make sure we got there ok. And that out 115 was a little
to fast and to slow it down to aroud 80 or so, I just wish i could
remmeber this officers name. I'd like to thank him
