Hello mark. 14 Jul 04 01:24, you wrote to DAVID WILLIAMS: ml> its been a while since i went looking for linear taper... back then, ml> they were getting hard to find... the explanation to me was that they ml> were hard to make because of having to get the resistance to rise at ml> the same slope across the whole surface... someone was bullshitting you. getting the resistance to rise at the same rate is only as difficullt as getting the resistive carbon film track to have the same width and thickness along its entire length. Wether they use vapor deposition or a liquid process (screen printing?) that's not a difficult task. doing the semi log ones must be more involved getting more resistance (therefor less material) at one end than at the other. - maybe the spray it on amd vary the feed rate (or pressure) to the spray head (or the rate of motion of the head).
