The Nazi's stole it.  There are still millions of people in Asia who still
consider it a good luck, or even, religious symbol.  There was an uproar in
the U.S. recently over Pokemon cards that were for Japanese distribution
which ended up here in the hands of collector. I believe that particular
symbol had the arms bent in the other direction, but bother varieties exist
in Asia and also in American Indian symbolism.
