Dallas pulls plug on US GP plans

(27-Oct-98) - Dallas has pulled out of the race to host the Formula 1's
return to the United States.

Would be race organiser Buddy Boren had his proposal rejected by the Texas
city's council: "I went to the city and offered a chance to bring one
of the world's greatest sporting events to town and got brushed
aside," he said.

Indianapolis remains the firm favourite to host the race in 2000 though San
Francisco is also trying to land the race.
