300RPM is kind of slow for small holes.  1/8" holes want 4000rpm or more.
(anything less quickly gets tedious)

300RPN is good for 3/4" holes however (but I doubt it'b be much use for
that :-)

300 RPM is good for removing long screws in plastic or metal where the
screw is loose after the first turn
