And so it came to pass, on 10-20-96 19:15,
that Jamie Howarth spake unto John Allen:

It'll sound like crap, trust me. The drivers are designed for different
purposes, different environments, and different types of enclosures. In a
house, speakers are in a relatively clean, atmosphere-controlled, solid
environment. In the car, there's all manner of road dust filtering in (worse
in some areas in the summer), the temperature can vary widely (where I grew
up, it could be anywhere from -40C in the dead of winter, to well over 40C in
the car in the summer when it's parked with the windows up), and they're
being bounced, shaken and beaten constantly when the car is in motion. Also,
home speaker drivers are typically designed with a nominal eight-ohm
impedance, while car speakers generally sport a nominal four-ohm impedance,
which doubles the amount of power they can draw from an amp. You'll lose a
lot of level with home speakers in the car,
