Here is the same information that I have been sending out via snail mail. The
book is basically finished, currently I am looking into having the book
printed locally which is taking some time. If I do not have it printed
ocally
it will be printed on high quality acid free glossy paper in a 600dpi laser
printer and spiral bound.
Dear Customer:
About a year ago I made the decision that in order to write a book worthy of
the Crosman model 160 that it would be first necessary to make a trip
(pilgrimage?)
back to where it all started. Although my collection of materials, mostly
gathered from Crosman Authorized Service Stations, was comprehension in many
areas, it was sorely lacking in others. Also, a mention, by retired Crosman
historian Robert Holtz, of some old black and white photographs proved to be
an irresistible lure. Crosman Corp., and in particular Mr. Leonard Picket,
president of Crosman Corp., went to every length to make my visit productive
and most graciously made available, for the first time ever, the archived
files and photographs of Crosman Arms to my inspection and use for historical
publication. The combination of the Crosman archives and the materials that
have been independently acquiring for the last 15 years tell a compelling
story. The first chapter of which is about ready to be told.
The Crosman 160 book will be ready in just a few weeks and the first edition
is reserved for you my regular customers. Strictly limited to the number of
copies ordered from this single announcement and an announcement to be made a
little later on the internet. Each copy of this limited first edition will
bear a serial number indicating printing order, the number of books in the
edition, and the original signature of the author. Serial numbers will be
assigned on a first come first served basis upon receipt of order.
Thanks
Crosman Arms History Library CD-ROM Volume 1
I am hoping that this will be a popular item for everyone interested in the
history of Crosman Arms. Although I have always tried to use as much original
material as possible in my books there has always been much more left out
han
could ever be included in a printed document. To solve this, I have
ndertaken
the project to scan, index, and catalog all historical Crosman reference
materials. The first volume will be available at about the same time as the
160 book. It will include historic Crosman photographs from the factory
archives, all model 160 related materials, all 160 service manuals, 1950’s,
60’s & 70’s original price lists, original model 101 factory parts drawings,
historic collection of 50’s & 60’s advertising proofs recently uncovered at
the factory, and lots more. All items will be high resolution full color
cans
presented in a very high quality format with Image AXS software. All images
will also be available to be viewed or printed as individual jpeg format
files. Fully PC compatible. Regular pricing will be $29.95 With the purchase
of the Crosman model 160 book, however, Volume 1 is yours for only $19.95
