This really highlights what is wrong with the US patent system. It should
provide a way for IBM to make money from an invention but not a means of
control.
There should be a government agency like the Library of Congress that
licenses patented technology to anyone willing to pay. In order to allow
the inventor to receive a reasonable return on his labor and at the same
time maintain a free and competitive market system.
