So every time a windows user clicks on help and ends up reading a page off
microsoft.com instead of a help file. Every time a user clicks search to go
look for a file on his local machine and it goes and hits microsoft.com,
Every time a user boots Vista and it phones home, these are all counted as
hits for microsoft web property?

Isn't that cheating? I mean why not just issue a patch in the next round of
security updates that changes everyone's desktop wallpaper to be
www.microsoft.com? Every time a windows machine reboots it's another
visitor..

OTOH, perhaps microsoft with their sneaky tracking features is just better
than google at tracking which visitors are unique and which have set their
browsers to delete cookies/cache/history on exit..
