   That's true, but (assuming bitlocker encrypted system volume here) you'd
have to crack the encryption in both directions to be able to make this work.

  Without bitlocker, all bets are off - I don't think it's much more secure
than XP against patching when booting an alternate OS / boot time control
program, except for PatchGuard, which might protect parts of the core from
outside influences.
