To me, VMWare only valid complaint is Microsoft is giving the tech away and
VMWare's charging for it (sometimes).  We've seen that before...

Anyway, VMWare still has enough differentiation in capability that they
wont be going away anytime soon, and the free pricing of Microsoft products
was pretty much caused by VMWare, so I don't have much sympathy. (They gave
away VMWare player and VMWare Server away free before Microsoft started the
same.)

As an aside, VMWare is also feeling pressure from others than Microsoft,
Parallels on the Wintel side, and Xen on the Linux side... (and others)
