Jordan seeks long-term partner

(13-Oct-98) - Eddie Jordan has revealed that he is looking for a partner to
help his team take the next step in its aim to reach the Grand Prix big
time.

"I see that if Jordan is to realise its goal of being a World
Champion, it will have to take on a serious partner. It was something that
I never thought I could do, but now I see the logic in it. It needs to be
the right kind of partner; one who will allow a certain element of freedom
under certain controls but who will give initiative and credibility in the
market place." Said the 50-year old.

Jordan aims to follow the example of McLaren boss, Ron Dennis, who teamed
up with international businessman and multi-millionaire Mansour Ojjeh in
the mid-'80s.

It is believed that Jordan would aim to maintain a controlling interest in
the team whilst securing long-term investment.

In the meantime, Jordan is in talks to extend its customer engine contract
with Mugen Honda by another two years, to take it to the end of 2001.
