Per a KB article, a re-install of SP2 took care of all of the issues. Most
likely, the malware still there, blocked the proper install of the FW when
I upgraded the computer with SP2 yesterday. Now all the crap is gone, SP2
took properly. Now to re-do all the patches needed.
This box might actually live again!!!!
