Bridgestone tyre tests to follow final race

(17-Oct-98) - Bridgestone have invited all teams to test new '99 spec tyres
at Suzuka after the final round of the championship at the beginning of
November.

New tyre regulations, which were announced by the FIA on Thursday, mean the
introduction of another groove to front tyres.

Announcing the tyre tests, Bridgestone's director of motorsport, Mr Hiroshi
Yasukawa, said: "We welcome this initiative, which has been arranged
in co-operation with the FIA."

"Together with all the teams taking part in next year's championship,
we will be seeking as much information as possible on the performance and
wear rate to be expected with the new equipment, which has yet to be tested
on a circuit."
