  He has always been helpful and cordial every time I typed with him.

  Some folks don't have as favorable an opinion of him, but he posted
a message on his website about that. Basically, if folks don't want to
deal with him, that's their choice. To me, his making doors registerable
instead of abandonware, even at a fraction of the original cost, was
worth it to me.
