-On 03-19-97, BOBBY QUEEN was conversing with MARTIN VINCENT
discussing Ford Thunderbird:
BQ>Martin according to NASCAR Ford teams would still be able to use
  >Thunderbirds for 2 years. But like a report I read why would Ford
  >want teams running a product they no longer sell? I have a feeling like
  >that report stated the Taurus is probably going to be the choice. At
  >least till the Thunderbird is re-introduced. Ford announced that Monday
  >also but didn't have any ideas how many years it will be before they
  >re-introduce it. L8er.
I read on NASCAR Online today that Rusty Wallace has been testing
something that may be in limitied production by the middle of next
model year. It's not a Taurus, but would be based on the Taurus.
Also read (I guess as a result of the latest wind tunnel testing after
Atlanta) that 'da Fords are changing again for Darlington (announced
just yesterday or the day before!!), air dam and spoiler, but I can't
remember which goes up and which goes down. Kinda screws up any
previous testing done there!
And another thing, a clarification on antenna positioning, must be
within 2 inches of roof centerline, midway front to back. Also, NASCAR
must approve positioning of roof cameras! There was a voice message
there today that was titled 'No More Roof Cams', but I didn't hear it,
no sound card at work. I gather this all comes from the last round of
wind tunnel testing, is it possible that camera 'blade' sticking up
gives the car that much more stability??
