our GMDD built locos arrived in NZ in 1955 and lasted untill the late 70's
before being rebuilt with chop noses, new electics and replaced the 567c
with the 645 (i think).
We have 85 of these units and only 2 have been withdrawn from service
(wrecks). They are still the backbone of our fleet and are found doing
everything. Theses engines are 45 years old and still going strong...
