DOJ FAILS TO RESPOND TO NRA'S SB23 QUESTIONS
============================================
From the moment SB23 was signed, NRA began carefully tracking
it's handling by the California Department of Justice. NRA's
State Liason, Steve Helsley, has vast experience with both
California DOJ and "assault weapon" legislation and is uniquely
qualified to inform DOJ of the myriad of problems that would
surface as they tried to implement this flawed law.
Now NRA has released some of these very communications, starting
in January 1999, with the establishment of the Attorney General's
"Assault Weapon Task Force". This group would have so much
trouble grappling with the faults of SB23 that they would disband
with NO WRITTEN RECOMMENDATIONS AT ALL!
Read NRA's most recent letter (2/24) to Attorney General Lockyer
and Governor Davis, which refers to 3 previous letters (included),
explaining in detail the problems with this law, the proposed
DOJ regulations, and DOJ's inability to respond to NRA's expert
queries.
Bookmark this valuable resource now so that DOJ can't say they
weren't warned. NRA TOLD YOU SO, ATTORNEY GENERAL LOCKYER!
