Perhaps by enabling kids to gain real skills we affect their
"self esteem" in a real manner. This may result in global
changes in their behavior. Seems to me this is better than
failing grades and false praise. The gains need to be real.
At one time I had info on the STAR project that I pulled off of
ERIC. It is not on my HD now, but if I can find it while
preparing for school I will post it.
