    AMERICA'S FUTURE IN SPACE

    At the American Museum of Natural History, Kaufmann Theater 
    77th St, between Central Park West and Columbus Av, New York

    Free and open to the general public

    In this illustrated talk, Dr. Tyson, who was one of the nine  
commissioners appointed by President Bush to advise on how to 
implement the new White House space vision, will describe the social 
and political climate that led to America's space exploration 
initiative.  
    Dr.Tyson will follow with an account of the short and long-term 
consequences of this plan to NASA and its science portfolio. 
    Subjects include international cooperation, the role of prize 
money to promote innovation, propulsion initiatives, the role of 
private industry, and the perennial debate of humans versus robotic  
exploration.                    
    Dr. Tyson will be available for two hours, allowing plenty of time 
at the end for questions and open discussion. 
    Entrance on 77th St. off Central Park West [under the stairs];
tell the guard that you are there for the Neil Tyson lecture. Free and 
open to the general public.
