Lynn B sent in this story (and see the recipe section for a recipe from Lynn):

"I was lucky enough to inherit my grandma's hand-written cookbook and three
very old Golden Rule spice tins. One of the tins (Mixed Spices) is half full
and still smells good. I believe The Citizens' Wholesale Supply Co supplied
spices, nuts and other baking supplies to housewives in the early 1900s, and I
think they operated like the old Watkins company in that this was a
door-to-door enterprise, but I'm not sure. In the 1990s I found an old
cookbook published by The Golden Rule Company that's in almost pristine
condition, as if nobody every used it. I was excited to find it!"
