The whole story was there.  You just missed it.  Here is the whole story
again.  You said "If he isn't Steve Asher, he's making a false claim."  You
were wrong.  And the epilogue to the story is that you won't just admit it.

Somewhere in the fog inside your mind, does that lead you to conclude that
he IS Steve Asher?  Surely it cannot lead you to conclude that he was
making a false claim to say "I ran my own FidoNet echo," since YOU just
said he STARTED it!  Those were YOUR two alternatives!

Actually what SEEMED like "years" was just a few months.  Did StevieQue
forget to tell you that you were the co-moderator?  He listed it in March
of 1999, renewed it in June, the echo disappeared by the August listing,
and then showed up in the September listing under Asher's name.
