Hi,
I have some feature requests for HPT:
1. A "where" (or a better name) command that tells you where
netmail to a particular address would to be routed based on the current
route table, eg.
$hpt where 2:2/2
2:2/2 routed via 3:633/285
You could also specify multiple addresses:
$hpt where 2:2/2 1:1/1
2:2/2 routed via 3:633/285
1:1/1 routed via 1:379/1
For routing files, I suppose you could have a "wherefile" command
or similar.
2. Do what WIMM does during the tossing process, ie. check the To: address
for a particular pattern and copy any matching messages to another mail
folder. You could also do this for other masks, eg. message body or
subject.
3. hptlink should display what it's doing. The old versions used to. The
current version is completely silent when it runs, with presumably no
option to have it display what areas its linking. On message bases with
thousands of messages "hptlink -t" can take a long time, which
brings me to #4:
4. Ability to tell hptlink to only to perform thread-linking on the last
nnn messages, where nnn would be configurable by the sysop, eg. 500. Or a
ddd, where ddd would be the number of days since the message arrived (not
sure if this is possible for all storage formats) or written.
Actually I just noticed hptlink has an -n option:
-n Link with 'new' messages only ('new' start from last linked + 1)
Presumably this does something similar, I don't know.
