Episode 74 & 75 - The best of both Worlds

Enterprise was sent to investigate the dissapearance of a federation colony.  
Borg threatened to attack the Enterprise unless they surrender.  Picard 
refuses and they abduct him.
 LT> 3. How were the others able to save him?
They got a beam lock and beamed him out-a-there.  After he was back, he was 
hooked up to Data, and he sent Data a message that enabled data to "put the 
borg ship to sleep".  Then while the ship was inactive, the Enterprise was 
inactive, they destroyed the cube.  Picard then had operations to remove the 
borg parts from him.
 LT> Oh, and one more thing: when and how were the Borg first
 LT> encountered?
Q sent the Enterprise to the Delta Quadrant, in episode 42- "Q who?"
