KB> This is Germany, Europe, hello! Please relate that I am not perfect
>Wooowaah, Kathy! ... an European connection
Wooowaah? OK, Tom, enough summer hoedowns for you!
I can't tell you how happy I am to see Parrots get to Europe! I've been
trying unsuccessfully to figure out how to get it to the UK since last
fall. If it's gotten to Germany, then the fellow in England with whom
I've been chatting on the Internet should be able to get out here now
also.
> -- introducing new blood -- reducing imbreeding in our discussions!!
>The fellow shows knowledge and great potential to teach us a few things
>to boot.
I'm pleased to have Klaus and his wife with us. Besides adding "new
blood", they give me someone to practice my German on! Although I
probably shouldn't torture a new person like that...
>Perhaps he has learned how to route mail to a different zone? Germany
>is in zone 2.
*Someone* over there had to request it. Perhaps this is an offshoot of
my attempts to get Parrots to England. We won't know until the original
requester steps forward.
>Hope you can keep the connection open. An E-mail address might be in
>order as a backup?
As long as there is 2-way mail, and enough users on that end to warrant
the sysops' continuing the echo feed, it'll stay open.
>Hmmm very interesting ... hobby breeding doesn't easily exist in
>Germany. That might explain a lack of European magazines on Aviculture
There are a few, but from what I've heard, they're all published in
languages other than English.
>-- and why that couple from England at the Midwest Avian Research Expo
>(MARE) last year was so starved for information and amazed that in
>America we share so much ...
I believe that in England, at least, breeders still think in terms of
"competition", and don't share info so they won't help anyone else make
sales they themselves might have made. I don't know about the rest of
Europe, however.
Whatever the reasons, I'm glad that we're going to be able to share some
info with anyone over there who wants to join in!
