subject: Hi from Minnesota

BS>Hello, Al, wherever you are now!
Well, , back in Mississippi. That was some first leg of the trip.
Ended up driving in snow from DC, through Pittsburgh, Wisconsin,
Minnesota, Kansas and all the way back to Memphis. Not enough to be
pretty; just enough to make driving slow and dangerous. Looking
forward to some of the California weather. Should be headed that way in
about a week. Just long enough to get on top of things back here.
BS>Our attorney jumped on the case immediately and got a copy of the ruling,
BS>but h says there's nothing here of any use to us. It seems the difference
BS>in venue, federal court v state court, is sufficiently different that it
BS>is unusable. We aren't left without anything, though. There are some
BS>state court decisions which provide pretty strong grounds for our next
BS>appeal.
Fantastic. Like I told you on the phone, I saw it and you came to mind
right away. It's gotta mean something to your situation.
BS>The weather here? Have you seen "Sleepless in Seattle"? It's rather like
BS>that. Prepare for rain. Cold rain, it being winter (that's how we tell
BS>the season). Temperatures this time of year usually range from low 30s
BS>to upper 40s, but we're having an unusual winter; today it is supposed to
BS>be sunny and into the low 60s! (And I'm going to be holed up in a base-
BS>ment testing software...sigh.)
Hope the sunshine hangs around a little while. I've seen enough messy
weather for a while.
BS>It's been enjoyable, but Tuesday I start a new job. It hasn't been easy
BS>with the case; a couple of potential jobs went away because of it, but
BS>in this case it seems somebody influential with the company knew
BS>somebody who had had a bad run-in with Childrens' Predatory Services
BS>(and won!), so they were sympathetic. It will be nice to earn a proper
BS>living for the first time since we went in.
Well, you will always find a few against you no matter what happens.
Thanks God though it does not represent the majority.
BS>I've been hearing a little about it. The changes are LONG overdue!
Yea, the Mondale Act sure needs some revision. Hopefully, our lawmakers
will comprehend the problems caused under the act as it currently
stands. It gives a prosecutor, basically, total immunity to witch hunt
and destroy lives with almost no liability. That needs to change
drastically. If they are no longer immune for their actions, they would
look more carefully before jumping in with both feet.
Well, hope this finds you and your wife well; at least as well as can be
expected under the circumstances. You all are in our prayers.
Hope to be seeing you in person real soon.
Allen
