I have a set of nicad "house" batteries.  I say house and they
power my remote house in the bush.  Each battery is in a
stainless steel case and two are packed in a timber box.
I have 20 individual batteries which (at 1.2 volt nominal) will
make a 24 volt battery bank.  Or they can be set up for 1
1200 amp hour 12 volt battery.  Weight wise, all twenty will
be about 3/4 tonne.

Nicad batteries are said to be the best and longest running
type of battery.  I am selling them as they do not live happly
when matched to a lead acid battery bank.
