Hello Bj”rn!

BF> And how can you do that? :-)

I'm easily confused after many years go by.

BF> For me that would be to confuse Canada with USA.

Except that part of Canada that is known as Ontario. (-:

BF> It's good you have them over there. We don't like these stinking
 BF> lutefisk makers here. :-)

I don't care for anything gelatin-wise, but they were really an exceptional
family and I liked them. That was my only experience with Norwegians, with
the exception of reading Thor Heyerdahl's book Kon-Tiki. I felt as though
I were on that raft with him on his journey across the Pacific Ocean.

BF> There is a healty rivalry going on between Sweden and Norway and also
BF> with Finland but strangly, not with the Danish.

Why not? (-:

BF> Yes, Norway is a very nice country and espceially Hurtigrutten. This
BF> is a trip by boat from south of Norway, into fjords and then up to the
 BF> north.

From the pictures he showed me of the fjords and other scenic places, I agree.

BF> You have to get one, It's a big issue.

No one pays any attention to anything I say about world affairs, but I'll
look into it.

BF> The Parlianment is in Brussels, Belgium and I don't think any country
BF> can take contol over it.

Even worse!

BF> I just heard that the members in the Parlianment have decided to
BF> increase their own salary with 80%. And then speek about mistrust of
 BF> politicians......

Our politicians in the Federal government get automatic raises, unless they
decide to vote against one. Fat chance of that happening.

BF> It is costing them much. There isn't many Scandinaves or Germans
BF> going there now so even many travel agencys are having big economical
 BF> trouble these days.

Not many Americans going to France, either. Not after what they did.

BF> I agree but then the kids grow up and some will became politicians and
BF> then all is forgotten. Only making money and gain power is whats counts
BF> and to do this they can kill their parents.

Most of the time their parental instructions hold. I know it did on mine,
but I have to add that none of them ever ran for political office.

BF> That was on the radio news here and this was so secret so not even Bush
BF> knew about it before he decided to go in Iraq.

Maybe so, but that has yet to be proved. In the meantime, I'm glad he and
the coalition sent troops into Iraq.

BF> And about the chemicals and biological stuff, you must have heard what
BF> the Swedish UN inspector Hans Blix said. Either there isn't any or the
BF> Iraq's are wery good at hiding them and he now didn't really believe that
BF> they are SO go at hiding things.

As I said, they've had a long time to hide that stuff.

BF> Someone inside Iraq, would by now, have said something and 12 years
BF> of sattelite search should have reveald /something/.

If we capture all of those people shown on that deck of 55 cards, one or
more of them should know something. I believe the woman scientist we have
in custody known as "Doctor Germ" could possibly know something,
but if she does, she isn't talking.

BF> And where is Saddam now? And Bin Laden? I mean, can't they find this
BF> guys, how will they find any weapons.

As I told a friend in New Zealand some months ago, I believe bin Laden has
been killed and I also believe the coalition got Saddam on one of the last
bombing runs. I can't think of any other reason for some of those Iraqis
who surrendered to do so unless he is dead.

BF> I'm not to sure about the oil. The only building in Baghdad that is
BF> totally intact is the Oil Department.

We were very careful about leaving some of the infrastructure intact.
Those people are going to need a source of income and they are sitting atop
a gold mine (of sorts). They only require a government responsive to their
needs.

BF> It was rather peaceful even before the war......

Unless you lived there and spoke out against Saddam...

BF> I don't say that it was wrong to take out Saddam, but it was perhaps
 BF> for the wrong reason.

I'm glad he's gone. I hope that a culture who teaches death to infidels
because their religion is different is eventually eradicated, and then we
all can pursue more profitable enterprises, secure in the knowledge that we
are free from aggresssion and war.

BF> Even here I think it's for the wrong reason. They both want to have the
BF> cake and eat it at the same time and there are fanatics all over the
 BF> world.

But as long as those fanatics aren't bothering them, there's no need for us.

BF> There is a simular thing here. The Danish wants us to shut down our
BF> nuclear plant that is placed just near to Copenhagen but they will gladly
BF> export electicity made in their /very/ dirty coal power plant where the
BF> exhaust will contaminate Sweden. It's all about politics and money.

I couldn't have put it better myself, Bj”rn.

BF> And now they have killed at least 4 German peace soldiers.

The sad thing is that the world-wide public sees that only as
"breaking news" and forgets all about it the next day, unless you
happen to be Russian or German.

BF> There will never be peace on this planet as long as there are
 BF> different religions.

I agree. Many a war was fought because of religion.

BF> As long a person can kill his neighbour for not having the same belief, I
BF> dought it. Just look at this suecid-bombers, how on earth can one load
BF> themself with TNT and pull the trigger?

They have been promised something by the fanatics whom they believe in. A
promise those same leaders can't possibly fulfill. The easy answer to your
question is that they have been, as you said, brain-washed.

BF> They are so religious brain-washed that it is coming out of the ears and
BF> this isn't foolishness, it's fanatism and fanatics, in whatever shape, are
 BF> always dangerous.

Yes, it is. That's why everyone must be on guard.

Regards,

Roger
