Gavin out Kramer in

(31-Oct-98) - Suzuka marks the end of the official career of FIA safety car
driver Oliver Gaviin, and also sees the appointment of new FIA press
officer Claus Kramer.

Former British Formula Three champion Gavin has been safety car driver for
the last two years, but is hoping to restart his career as a full time
racing driver with offers in F3000, Indy Lights and the Porsche SuperCup.

Claus Kramer is currently working with the FIA in its European Parliament
office in Brussels and he will continue to work out of Belgium.

He takes over from Alistair Watkins, who left the FIA in September to take
a business management course.
