That's hard to say. As you pointed out already, he didn't mention
how it was going to be used.
I have seen a data reader that takes constant measuments in a vent
stack and you can peer into the data stream with the cursor, moving
forward, backwards or just let it sit. The data always appears to
move. There is a place marker at the boundry of new and old data,
but the marker isn't always visible. I've seen a telephone monitoring
system with a similar display.
Imagine a slowly revolving waterwheel and that you're looking at
the circumference with a lens. You can move the lens clockwise or
move it counterclockwise. I call it a "circular buffer", having
first seen the effect on COMIT. What is it really called?
