Alesi's 'nightmare' day

(30-Oct-98) - Jean Alesi, the man who has pledged his support to Michael
Schumacher, finished today's practice session a disappointing 16th and
declared it a 'nightmare'.

The Frenchman spun during the session leaving his Ferrari-powered Sauber
closer to the bottom of the time-sheets than he had hoped for.

"Today we did not have a good set-up fort his circuit, and I spent my
time struggling to find a good balance." Said Alesi.

"What started as severe oversteer initially, became understeer later
on. It was a nightmare! During my second run on a new set of tyres this
afternoon I spun, and that was the end of my session."

Alesi has been testing his Sauber alongside Ferrari in the lead up to this
weekend's race and had said that if he was in a position to help Michael
Schumacher to his third drivers' title, he would.
