RW>RN> You say that now, but when he does pass, you might change your mind.

RW> I've been known to be more stubborn than that...

Circumstances alter cases.

RW> It would have been more business-like for him to sever your relationship
RW> on the spot. No hard feelings, just business.

He would have to get Benson's okay for that and the office staff would have
been dead set against it. As far as I was concerned, it was the end of the
road for me anyway. I made sure I had another place to go to before
turning my notice in. None of this would have happened if the Persias were
still alive and I would have stayed with them until retirement. While they
were alive, it was the greatest place to work and there isn't or hasn't
been another like it in my other work experiences.

RW> Nancy's aunt was like that, even at 96 she still played cards with the
RW> 'girls' once a week.

Makes me sort of envious. When I can't remember something about the
fanily, I simply call my sister for the answer and she has it in memory.

RW> I think he does.

Tell Harry that my paternal grandfather has the same name.

RW> GM shares are down to $.75 today. A far cry from the $18/share they were
RW> this time last year. If they go into Bankruptcy on Monday, stocks won't
RW> be available until they emerge from it.

$18 to 75 cents is a gigantic drop. At $18, I could have sold the shares
short (if I understand this right) and made a bundle, but I think what
we're seeing here is the gradual takeover of everything by the banks. That
isn't good.

RW> You don't have to make it...I've seen some Italian SW that is used to
RW> make a drink in certain deli'...

I'd rather do it myself.

RW> I do that while working on more than one project at a time. It's really
RW> more like I get distracted with something that I forgot to do the last
RW> time I was in that place.

Distraction is the major cause of my screwups. I dropped out of my mailer
the other night, got distracted by something and went to bed without
noticing I hadn't exited the program I dropped to so D'Bridge would be
active again. I won't make that mistake again.

RW> My cousin was a couple of years ahead of me, so he was more teen
RW> developed than I was. Even though I ended up more muscular than he did
RW> in the end. I could probably have done it by the following year.

All that going on for you and all I wanted to do was to be able to outrun
my peers, which most of the time I suceeded in doing.

RW> I've still got a sweater that I wore in high school. It doesn't fit me
RW> anymore, but someday I hope to get that skinny again.

Dream on. (-:

RW> One of my neighbor kids where I lived in Poway, CA - got bit by a baby
RW> rattler while sitting on a curb near an empty field. He was hurtin' for a
RW> long time. I've come close a few times, even stepping on one in the dark,
RW> but never bitten.

I still have a fear of being bitten by one, but they are more afraid of us
than we are of them. One of the good guys who lived in Austin, who was the
moderator of the MEMORIES echo, passed away when I lived in Mandeville.
When he was in better health, we were talking about my walk along a stream
in the woods and encountering a huge moccasin, which I later killed. He
remarked that I was so busy looking where my feet were going that I failed
to remember those suckers can climb trees, too. I cold sweat broke over me
at those words. His name was Kent Anderson.

RW> It looks like we may end up back there again...

I hope not. Beyond that, I won't comment.

RW> It should be part of the gear selection process, not a seperate switch.

And I thought Ford had a better idea. (-:

RW> GM overdrives still have 1, 2, 3 and OD. I select 3 when driving around
RW> town and OD when on the freeway. If I select OD in town, it shifts into
RW> 4th gear and locks up soon after. It's annoying when your engine is
RW> lugging at 45mph because it's in converter locked over drive.

Hence the switch on the joystick. If I'm just going be driving around
town, I press the OD button and don't have to worry about that.

RW> The engine noise attracted me to the tach...WTH is that all about?

I don't know.

RW> I wouldn't have bothered to try...it's pretty much what it's going to be.

If I had access to some really good software, I could be absolutely sure.

RW> Heh...I had a guy in a 58 Plymouth come to me and beg me to let him win,
RW> he wanted a trophy real bad. I told him if he could beat me, he could
RW> have the trophy and I wouldn't have to sand bag for him. I'd a thunk
RW> about it harder if he wasn't running snow tires on the back. :o)

ROTFL!

RW> No sense at all.

See? I told you. I'll get my revenge on him this coming Tuesday.

RW> They're called 'utility' sockets today. :o)

Yep.

RW> My cousin wore bibed coveralls to school. I didn't know him when he wore
RW> those.

I think I wore those sans the bib. It was long ago.

RW> Bushings, balljoints or tie rods?

ALL! I was advised not to get on the highway with it and that sensible
driving in town would be okay for awhile.

Regards,

Roger

... Well, at least I'm improving my cold tolerance.
