-=> Jay Emrie said to Greg Mayman -=> about "CHANGING MEDIA FORMATS" on 01-15-03 21:23..... JE> 20'!!! Why on earth so terribly long?? In practical terms, a 20ft cord will only just do a room about 10-12ft square from an outlet in one corner, with furniture in the way, and that will still require that you back up around the furniture to move from one side to the other. OTOH if all the furniture is moved out, and if you have a power outlet in the middle of one wall, the room can be 18ft square and you can (just) reach all the corners. The standard length on most appliances seems to have come down to about 10-12 ft nowadays, which is too short for an average room unless you have power outlets in several corners. Because of this I have "permanently" attached 5 metre extension cords to some of our appliances. From Greg Mayman, in beautiful Adelaide, South Australia ... Buy Old Masters. They fetch a much better price than old mistresses. ___ Blue Wave/386 v2.30 --- FLAME v2.0/b* Origin: Braintap BBS Adelaide Oz, Internet UUCP +61-8-8239-0497 (3:800/449) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 800/449 1 640/954 774/605 123/500 106/1 379/1 633/267 |
