Irvine spins under pressure

(30-Oct-98) - Eddie Irvine span off the circuit during today's practice
session at Suzuka claiming his Ferrari is not yet perfect.

"We need to do some work on improving the balance of the car which is
not yet perfect," said the Ulsterman. "I had not quite got the
brakes balanced properly and I simply lost control."

Irvine is under huge pressure from Ferrari who need him to finish Sunday's
race second, ahead of the McLaren of Mika Hakkinen but behind the Ferrari
of his team-mate Michael Schumacher.

Despite his spin, Irvine's first day saw him on course to achieve his aim
finishing fourth fastest, ahead of Hakkinen.
