DC> Speaking from outside the US...
DC> A wise man once said "YOUR Civil rights end where MY Civil rights
DC> begin"... That is what your governments have inflicted on you...
Well put.
DC> majority have decided to licence the operation of almost all things
DC> DANGEROUS to the PUBLIC... at least physically dangerous.
Yes. Like airline pilots.
DC> They do seem to be careless about letting LAWYERS run at large .
Yes, unfortunately. Although they _do_ have to pass an exam.
DC> Freedom's privileges must be balanced by Freedom's responsibilities.
Yes. But some people want one without the other or want someone else to
bear the burden.
BTW, is it o.k. if I fly a jetliner without a pilot's license? How about
practicing brain surgery?
DC> ... Noli urinare contra ventum!
Sounds kinky to me.
BTW, winding down the Canadian History Seminar. Getting _student's_
presentations now. Everything from baseball to skiing to tourism to
reaties.
I'll be putting the finishing touches on my paper on "Explorers of the
Canadian West" this weekend.
Kind of interesting to speculate what might have happened if the British
government had listened to Mackenzie and Thompson.
