Schumacher tries new lid

(30-Oct-98) - Michael Schumacher is trying a new-style helmet at Suzuka,
but it has nothing to do with his championship bid.

He asked helmet designer Pierre van Ginneken to incorporate a new chrome
border at the bottom of the helmet and chequered sides in the design for
next year. Van Ginneken, who works for Bell's European importer, said he
could incorporate the new touches for the last Grand Prix in Japan.

Perhaps the design will be seen again if Schumacher is successful - but if
not, maybe not!
